Dr. Bari Hoffman Ruddy serves as Director of The Center for Voice Care and Swallowing Disorders at The Ear, Nose, Throat and Plastic Surgery Associates. She has worked clinically with the practice since 1998 evaluating and treating adults and children with voice and upper airway difficulties. She specializes in vocal health issues for professional voice users prior to- and after vocal injury, treatment of neurogenic and upper airway disorders as well as respiratory muscle strength training paradigms.
In her current role, she performs instrumental voice and swallowing assessments, recommending treatment and educating patients, families, and staff on various voice/upper airway related issues as needed.
Dr. Ruddy is also a Professor at the University of Central Florida, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Throughout her career, she has maintained an active clinical research laboratory with numerous publications and presentations both nationally and internationally to her credit. She is an author of two widely disseminated textbooks as well as the author of chapters in other leading industry books.
She has been awarded Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Florida Association of Speech Pathology and Audiology (FLASHA).
